But he discovers all too late that his biggest nightmare has stowed away on the trip: an overly optimistic 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell.

Interpretative recount : 78-year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen is pushed beyond his limit when builders force him to move out of his own home, where he and his late wife had built their lives. Determined to live out a lifelong dream and show everyone that he won't be living in an old folks' home, Carl ties thousands of balloons to his house and lifts off toward Paradise Falls, South America. he has a stowaway - an 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell. Carl is unable to get the talkative and persistent whippersnapper back to the ground, and the both of them end up in South America. Along their trek toward the falls, Carl and Russell find a strange and very large bird, whom Russell dubs "Kevin," and a talking dog named Dug who is hunting the bird. Russell wants to keep them, but Carl does not want . As it turns out, the dogs belong to Charles Muntz, the adventurous explorer who inspired Carl and Ellie's dreams of Paradise Falls. He is in search of the mysterious Kevin bird, and will stop at nothing to capture it. Despite his desire to stay out of this big mess, Carl finds himself right in the middle of it. At 78 years old, he is about to finally realize what life and adventure are all about.

Evaluation : The story of Up can be interpreted on different levels. To young kids, it is a funny story about an old man, a boy, and some silly animals. Kids will love the colorful scenery, the talking dog, and of course the house floating away with all of the balloons tied to it. This movie is remarkable for a brilliant montage sequence at the very beginning, sketching out Carl's early married life with childhood sweetheart Elie. This is a terrific film.

Evaluative summation : The movie is packed with lovely jokes, some of them funny in inexplicable ways. Funny and poignant and full of life, Up easily qualifies as one of the best movies of the year so far. Adventure is about escaping death's closure, but it's also about clinging to life's openness - letting one escapade's end evolve into something new. "Up" is a tremendously affecting story of indomitable love, infectious spirit and embraced possibilities.

Ratatouille

Orientation : Brad Bird may be one of the few animated filmmakers working today who understands what the concept of a "family film" means. It's something that offers material to viewers of all ages and doesn't lose one group by catering too strongly to another. Bird has turned his attention to the sewers and kitchens of Paris with Ratatouille. Rats don't make for the most cuddly of animated creatures and the movie spends enough time developing plot that younger children may squirm.

Interpretative recount : In Ratatouille, Remy (voice of Patton Oswalt) is a culinary wizard of a rat. His senses are so refined that he refuses to eat garbage and is used by others as a "poison detector" since he can tell if something is toxic by sniffing it. His desire, however, is to become a chef, and he gets a chance to achieve his dreams when he meets Linguini (Lou Romano), a janitor at Gusteau's, a famous Paris restaurant. Hiding under Linguini's chef's hat, Remy urges the young man to create dishes of amazing mastery. Like Cyrano de Bergerac, Remy pulls the strings and Linguini takes the credit. Soon, Gusteau's is the talk of the city and Linguini has captured the heart of the woman of his dreams, Colette (Janeane Garofalo). But trouble looms. The chef (Ian Holm) whose position Linguini usurped wants revenge. And powerful food critic Anton Ego (Peter O'Toole) has decided to have a meal an Gusteau's; on the night of his arrival, Remy is nowhere to be found.

Evaluation : Bird has fashioned the movie as a parable about racism and tolerance. The conflict here is between rats and humans. While there are no song-and-dance numbers to enrapture kids, there are plenty of action sequences and a majority of the comedy is universal enough to tickle the funny bones of viewers of all ages.

Evaluative summation :  This is a wonderful, family friendly movie, but some scenes can be quite scary. In one of the beginning scenes, and old lady is trying to kill Remy with her gun, although she does not succeed. As a result of her shooting all over her house to get Remy, all the rats have to escape. Then later, Remy's dad takes him to a place where lots of dead rats are shown, and this could be quite disturbing to younger viewers. People in the dining place seem to be drinking wine. 

PowerPuffGirls

Description of the three Powerpuff Girls' personalities: Blossom, commander and the leader. Bubbles, she is the joy and the laughter. Buttercup, she is the toughest fighter. 

Blossom (pengisi suara: Cathy Cavadini) adalah "yang pintar" dan menganggap dirinya sebagai pemimpin Powerpuff Girls.
